National information workshops on the regulatory framework and the services of the WAAS were respectively held in Dakar (17 May 2019) and Abidjan (May 22, 2019).
These workshops gathered assessment bodies Conformity (laboratories, inspection and certification bodies), but also all other stakeholders: the private sector (employers and chambers of commerce), the press, consumer associations , professional associations of quality and of medical biology, representatives of ministries, etc.
The opening ceremonies showed the presence of several persons including:
Dakar: General Secretary of the Ministry of Industrial Development, Chairman of the WAAS, Resident Representative of UNIDO Representative of the European Union, GD ISM - WAEMU Center of Excellence for Quality Management.
Abidjan: General Director of Industry, Resident Representatives Commission of WAEMU and UNIDO, Resident Ambassador Representative of ECOWAS, Representative of the European Union.
As part of the rapprochement of WAAS to training institutions, especially in a perspective of sustainability and preparing future generations, higher education schools in the field of quality and medical biology were also invited.
The Dakar workshop has been organized in the Higher Institute of Management (ISM) - Dakar WAEMU Center of Excellence for the quality management.
The institution Sainte Jeanne d’ Arc post baccalaureate was represented by the Director General and two frames. Our thanks to the WAEMU Commission and its quality management center of excellence that allowed the holding of these two activities, the authorities and all participants who agreed to honor the WAAS to their presence.
