On February 1, 2019, the thinking on the project for accreditation of the Central Police Laboratory of Côte d'Ivoire was launched following a working session, in particular between SOAC (President and CEO), The Consultant and the Director of the Laboratory. On October 12, 2019, the laboratory accreditation was declared.
This February 6, 2020, one year after the scoping meeting, the SOAC is invited to the official presentation ceremony of the laboratory accreditation certificate, chaired by Hon. Minister of Security and Civil protection. Congratulations to the DLCP!

For UNODC, in West Africa alone, drug trafficking causes the economy an annual loss of approximately $ 1.3 billion in the health, work and others sectors.
Almost 18% of the people who had access to drug treatment and rehabilitation services in West Africa during the period 2014-2017 were 10 to 19 years old. (WENDU Report Oct. 2019 UNODC - EU)
The fight against the consumption of narcotic drugs contributes directly to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Objective (SDG) N ° 3, in particular target 3.5 which aims to "strengthen the prevention and treatment of 'abuse of psychoactive substances, notably narcotic drugs and alcohol ".
With this accreditation, Côte d'Ivoire is a pioneer in the field of expertise in drug detection. This thus encourages the achievement of similar results in the other Member States, with a view, to ensuring specifically a better protection of the health of citizens and preserving the fragile economic benefits * from this scourge.
