How to be accredited by SOAC ?

Bodies concerned by accreditation include but not limited to, laboratories, certification bodies, inspection bodies, proficiency testing providers, verification/validation bodies and reference material producers.

Accreditation assessments are conducted on the basis of applicable international standards in line with Global ACI reference documents.

To obtain SOAC accreditation:

01

Interest in initial accreditation

CAB expresses its interest in accreditation and submits a formal request to SOAC (usually by email) or, in particular, via the SOAC online platform.

02

Completion of the application form and review of the application by SOAC

The candidate completes application forms and provides them to SOAC with all the necessary documents for application review. This review will be carried out to determine the admissibility of the application.

03

Notification of eligibility and on-site assessment

If the review proves satisfactory, SOAC proceeds with the next steps and begins assembling the accreditation team, setting the date and arranging the logistics (the team typically consists of a quality assessor, a technical assessor, the accreditation manager, and an intern). Once the accreditation candidate has paid his invoice and confirmed the assessment team, the accreditation assessment will take place.

04

Accreditation decision

Once all the non-conformity reports have been closed, the conformity assessment body's file will be reviewed by an accreditation committee. This committee, composed of independent members, will examine the file and issue an opinion regarding accreditation.
SOAC Director General will make his decision based on the favorable opinion of the accreditation committee. Once accredited, every conformity assessment body is periodically assessed to ensure its system's compliance with the applicable accreditation criteria.
