Audience with the Burkinabè Minister of Industry

On the sidelines of a mission to Ouagadougou, the SOAC delegation was received by Mr. Serge Poda, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Crafts of Burkina Faso on June 18, 2025. The objective was to present the activities of SOAC and the strategic importance of accreditation for public health and trade.
SOAC also highlighted the role of the Burkina Faso Standardization, Metrology and Quality Agency (ABNORM) and the Burkina Faso Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI-BF) within its governance bodies. The Minister expressed his support for this key regional body, recalling that accreditation is essential to guarantee product quality and strengthen national competitiveness. He encouraged SOAC to carry out more accreditation promotion activities to raise awareness of this key regional tool. Finally, he appreciated the balanced representation of stakeholders within SOAC and hoped that this dynamic of equity in the delivery of the accreditation service would be strengthened and sustained.
